Around 14 crore voters across 91 constituencies in 18 states and two union territories came to use their Voting Right to elect from 1,279 candidates in the first phase of 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
The first Voting phase of the election in eight North-Eastern states of which went in polling yesterday recorded a good number of voter in the states. The Election commission official of India has reported that the maximum number of voter come to vote at the polling booth.
Tripura registered the maximum number of voter turnout to vote among the states that went for polls. Tripura Recorded the Highest percentage of 81.8 percent, followed by West Bengal which recorded 81 percent of voter turnout to vote.
Other states in the North-east registered following percentage of voter turnout to vote as Assam recorded 68 percent voters’ turnout. Manipur register 78.2 percent of voters, Sikkim 69 register percent of voters, Mizoram register 60 percent of voters, Nagaland register 78 percent of voters, Meghalaya register 67.16 percent of voters, and Arunachal Pradesh register 58 percent of voters.
As “Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram have single-phase polling. So elections in these States will be over today,” as said by the Election Commission officials.
